I’m on this whole get-inspired-for-next-book kick, which has meant a lot of reading and a lot of research and a lot of geeking out about reading and writing. So today I’m making a list of the books the more reliable parts of the internet inform me are the favorites of my favorite writers:
Woody Allen: Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
Jami Attenberg: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz and Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner
Michael Chabon: A Hologram for the King by Dave Eggers
Helen Fielding: (no surprise) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Ernest Hemingway: Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
Nick Hornby: David Copperfield by Charles Dickens and, more excitingly because I know him, Pictures at a Revolution by Mark Harris
