I’m cohosting a fundraiser for the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 5 at the Spreadhouse Cafe, where I’ll be discussing Sex and the City in the age of #MeToo with SheKnows sex and health editor Elizabeth Yuko. We will be examining how the show holds up in the era of the #MeToo movement, with clips and a discussion about how the show addressed sexual harassment, consent, and women’s sexual health. What can Sex and the City teach us about women getting what they want from sex, while still setting boundaries? What can it teach men about how to treat women?
A charity raffle will follow, with Sex and the City-themed prizes, including the new state-of-the-art Rabbit vibrator, courtesy of Lovehoney, tickets to the Sex and the City bus tour from On Location, Magnolia cupcakes, and complete SATC DVD box sets courtesy of HBO. Jennifer’s book Sex and the City and Us will be available for sales and signing. Tickets are limited, so get them now!
All proceeds from ticket sales, book sales, and the raffle will go to the #TimesUp Women’s Legal Defense Fund. You can read more about their work here.
